About Rev. Avery C. Alexander
Rev. Alexander was an important figure in the Civil Rights movement, a longtime member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and a prominent community leader who fought for better healthcare for the poor. Charity Hospital was also named in Rev. Alexander's honor.
