II.E. Support Services and Systems

The School of Medicine, in partnership with GME Participating Sites, is committed to providing services in health care delivery systems that minimizes house staff work that is extraneous to their GME Programs' educational goals and objectives, and to ensure that House Officers educational experiences are not compromised by excessive reliance to fulfill non-physician service obligations. Services and systems that are provided to support House Officers education in a safe environment include patient support services, laboratory, pathology, radiology, and medical records. Provisions are made for a healthy and safe work environment with 24-hour food services, call/nap rooms, and appropriate security.
