Description: | Hospital next to the LSU School of Medicine's New Orleans campus that operated before Hurricane Katrina. After Katrina, the Interim LSU Public Hospital was opened in the former University Hospital building. Due to painted signage that remained on the building for several years after the opening of ILPH, the hospital was frequently referred to as University Hospital. The building is currently closed and is set to be refurbished into a simulation center for the School of Medicine. |
