VA Rotations - Refresher Training - : Returning VA House Officers for 2018-2019

To:       Programs that rotate to the VA- For House officers that have rotated to the VA and will return to the VA during 2018-2019.

VA Returning House Officers must complete the VA Returning Resident Packet.  The VA Returning Resident Packet includes the following:

1. Completed VA GME Returning Application Checklist -  (See Attached)
2. Completed annual Refresher Training – Instructions are attached – VA Mandatory Refresher Training
3. Original Refresher Training Certificate.  The Certificate must include the House Officer’s name and the completion date MUST be in Calendar Year 2018.  (Certificates dated 2017 or that don’t have the House Officer’s name printed  on the Certificate will not be accepted)- Instructions on how to print the TMS Certificate are attached.
4. Copy of Unexpired PIV Card

Attach the Original Refresher Training Certificate and PIV card copy to the VA GME Returning Application Checklist and give to the Program Coordinator.  Coordinators submit the completed VA Returning Resident Packet(s) to the LSU GME office.

The VA GME Returning Application Packet is due to the LSU GME Office by February 16, 2018.

NOTE:  Even if the House Officer rotates to the VA for the first time between January and June 2018 and will return to the VA in 2018-2019, he/she MUST complete the VA Returning House Officer Packet.

Good Morning All,

This email is regarding Returning Residents who will rotate at the New Orleans VA for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.  All I will need is their TMS Refresher Training Certificate.  Please have your Program Coordinators collect.

Every year the TMS training expires and therefore the resident will have to retake the training.  Attached are instructions on how the resident can print the certificate after they have completed the training.
