Description: | A Fellowship Program is similar to a Residency Program, but it consists of more specialized training. The trainees in a program are called Fellows, but are sometimes referred to as Residents or House Officers. This training is done after successfully completing a residency, and lasts between 1 and 4 years. Most, but not all fellowship programs are accredited by the ACGME. Like residency programs, Fellowship Programs are led by a Program Director, and a Program Coordinator is typically in charge of the administrative work needed to run the program. |
