Manual PECOS Enrollment for Residents
All residents are required to be enrolled in the Medicare PECOS system as prescribers in order to write drug and durable home-health equipment prescriptions for Medicare patients. Registration cannot be completed until the resident has a valid medical license or permit. While the drug prescription enforcement has been delayed until January 1, 2019, the requriement is already being enforced for home-health equipment prescriptions. Any resident who is not registered cannot write prescriptions for home-health equipment.
