Sections in New Innovations
Administration
Overall information about each program. Includes the Program Dashboard, which allows you to view high-level information about your program.
Personnel
Contains records for all active residents/fellows in your program. See Required Information for House Officers in New Innovations Personnel Data for detailed info about what data is required for each resident. Program faculty are also listed here (but since faculty are shared across programs, not all of your program's faculty will be visible here).
Schedules
Allows the scheduling of residents and faculty on rotations of the block schedule. Schedules allow New Innovations to know which residents and faculty work together so evaluations can be distributed. See Schedules in New Innovations for more info.
Evaluations
Create and distribute evaluation forms. Evaluations are sent based on the block schedule, and can be set to be automatically distributed every month. See Evaluations for info about the types of evaluations that are needed.
Duty Hours
Allows residents to track how much they are working, and what type of work they are doing. Recording duty hours facilitates compliance with the ACGME Common Program Requirements (see VI. The Learning and Working Environment).
Logger
Some specialties are required to maintain case or procedure logs. For specialties not required to record their cases in ADS, the Case Logs section under Logger can be configured for use.
Conferences
Allows tracking of conference scheduling (including locations, speakers, and handouts) as well as resident attendance. Attendance percentages can be automatically calculated in a report.
Portfolio
Scholarly Activities / Journals - Allows residents to complete journaling assignments or to record scholarly activities conducted (journal publications, research projects, etc.).
Reviews - A portfolio review will collect all data within New Innovations for a resident to assist with semi-annual reviews. It can be configured to include duty hours, evaluation results, conference attendance, scholarly activities, procedures logged, and more.
Milestones - Allows for recording of Milestone Review or evaluation using the ACGME Milestones. When completing a Milestone Review within New Innovations, all relevant evaluation content for the review period is collected and displayed during the review process to assist in rating each resident. (Milestones must first be connected to evaluation forms and/or rotations for this to work).
